The Société des musées québécois (SMQ) is an umbrella group representing museums and similar institutions (exhibition centres and interpretation sites) and museology professionals in Quebec. Through the services it offers, it fosters the development of this sector and its different functions, while promoting museums on the national and international stage. Its raison d’être is to serve the higher interests of the Quebec museum network.
