To Your Health!

Garde Duchemin, a nurse in the Abitibi region; Lucienne Maheux, an alienist at the Robert-Giffard hospital; Jeanne Mance, founder of the Hôtel-Dieu in Ville-Marie; Marguerite d'Youville, Armand Frappier - all celebrated names in this field.

Apothecary or nursing sisters, alienists or backwoods nurses: it is primarily women who have cared for patients' mental and physical health over the years.

Some of these museums describe the role of these women in New France up to the 20th century. Others look at research and discoveries related to preventive and cutting-edge medicine, for instance in microbiology and biotechnology.

Find out about important figures in the history of medicine in Quebec and a unique, to say the least, scientific heritage.
