To discover, see and do...
The J.-A. Vachon house, the family home of the founders of Vachon cakes, is located in Sainte-Marie de Beauce, less than 20 minutes from the Quebec City bridges via Highway 73 South. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll learn how a family of humble origins prospered thanks to their dedication and ingenuity. The house, a recognized historical monument, takes you back to the days when Rose-Anna prepared her "croquignoles" (goodies) on the wood stove. You can see the first cookbook, the very one that was used to record the original cupcake recipes. Learn how Rose-Anna kept the accounts and what it cost at the time to run their small business. The visit is completed by a video on the history of Vachon cakes and the factory manufacturing process. Not to mention that each visitor also receives two cakes!
