To discover, see and do...

Discover the history of the Patriotes in Lower Canada and the upheavals that marked the country in the first half of the 19th century. The Maison nationale des Patriotes is an interpretation centre that presents the history of the Patriotes movement and the economic, political and social context of the events of 1837-1838. Located on the banks of the Richelieu River in the heart of the heritage village of Saint-Denis, the centre offers a range of educational activities for young and old alike, along with a varied program of cultural activities and special events during the summer (talks, nighttime walks, a farmers’ market and theme days). Guides in period costume will take you back in history to 1828 and tell you about the Patriotes' fight for freedom and democracy.
