To discover, see and do...
The Larouche International Exhibition Centre (called CIEL) is located in the municipality of Larouche's old parsonage, in the heart of the Saguenay--Lac-Saint-Jean region. The building, dating from the 19th century, has preserved its style despite adding four modern exhibition rooms. Inaugurated in June 2005, the CIEL is already recognized province-wide for the size and the quality of its exhibitions. Larouche has developed an innovative and dynamic niche in Quebec's cultural tourism market. The Centre, part of the Village-Museum concept initiated by Larouche-born artist Mr. Claude Simard, presents contemporary art and works of internationally known artists such as Chagall, Picasso, Molinari and Villeneuve. Visitors can also admire artwork from various eras and sources, from the Centre's collection evaluated at over $23 million.
