To discover, see and do...
How does one do justice to a story that culminates in a period so chilling and brutal, so terrible and unspeakable, that many who witnessed it have not the words with which to describe it?
Welcome to the first world-class Holocaust museum in Canada — the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Our mandate is to educate people of all ages and backgrounds about the Holocaust, the attempted destruction of the Jewish people by Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945.
What makes this exhibition unique is its connection to Montreal, which became home to the third largest survivor population in the world after World War II. All testimonies and artifacts which appear in the museum are those of Holocaust survivors from the Montreal community.
The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Museum’s mission is to alert the public to the destructive powers of prejudice, antisemitism and hate, while promoting respect for diversity and the sanctity of all human life.
