To discover, see and do...
A magnificent collection : items made of ivory, faience, brocade, velvet, silver, paper, hide, parchment and other materials, all fashioned by master craftspeople, tell stories about our past. The Stewart Museum collection paints a portrait of bygone days, covering five centuries of political events, scientific experiments and cultural life. The permanent exhibition looks at a number of themes, including navigation, the days of the great sailing ships and daily life in New France. The exhibition stretches over two floors and comprises nearly 500 artifacts, documents and rare books. Come on a trip back in time, starting with the first occupants of Île Sainte-Hélène and ending with different images of the island from the mid-19th century to the present day. The famous model of Montreal as a walled city has been restored and refreshed, inviting visitors to enjoy a unique experience.
