To discover, see and do...
For over 150 years now, agriculture has produced far-reaching changes in the natural landscape of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, and continues to shape it to this day. The activities of farmers and their communities along the rural concession roads have always had an impact on the countryside. The Centre d'interprétation de l'agriculture et de la ruralité (CIAR), an interpretation centre devoted to agriculture and rural life, looks at the rich local heritage and know-how of a community that gradually developed over the years. It examines the different crops and colours in the fields throughout the seasons, and examines agricultural issues facing future generations. The Centre, set on an enchanting site, features a huge collection of artifacts and offers a variety of unique activities. It is part of our history, a witness to our past, but also a glimpse of a new heritage to be created.
